We second the recommendations. Mrs. Wilkes is family style; you sit with 8-10 others and pass about 12 bowls of food around till you burst. It's $10 per person for lunch and $7 for breakfast. The food is great, and you can buy a cookbook with all the favorites. Elizabeth's is a premier low country restaurant. Grits with shrimp, quail, etc. Very expensive but excellent. If you have the time, you may also try the Pink House, across the street from the Planters Hotel. The restaurant is in an old house which has separate dining rooms with different decors. Food is delicious. Hope this helps.
