Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is at 107 W. Jones St., Savannah, GA. (Lower level, enter beneath the front stoop-- follow your nose.) Breakfast is from 8-9:00am & lunch from 11am-3:00pm, no dinner. Seating is at large tables with other guests; service is home-style-please- pass-the-biscuits, eat all you want. Cost is reasonable. Ambience is homey & friendly; likewise the food, which is basically southern country-style home cooking. Phone 919-232-5997, but they don't take reservations or credit cards. Closed 1st two weeks of July. This information is from the book DINING IN HISTORIC GEORGIA by Marty Godbey.
