Ya gotta go to Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House. GRE-A-A-A-T regional cooking.
Down-home, boarding house style (tables accommodate about 8 people). Every
dish is made on site and is so delicious that you may lose your mindl. BTW,
there is a Mrs. Wilkes and we were fortunate enough to meet her. The walls are
covered with letters of thanx and recognition from many food luminaries who
visited with Mrs. Wilkes and whom I am sure you've heard of.
It's a no frills, no reservations (you line up outside, so get there early)
restaurant located on the ground floor of an old brownstone town house.
Our only complaint is that we got stuck with two retired dentists from New
York City and their wives who did nothing but whine about the world's state of
affairs with that revolting Fran Dreshner-type accent.
Call ahead for the hours that the joint is open. (breakfast and lunch only).
It will be worth your time. And you'll be thanking me for years.

 Cheers,

 Dave
