On Buford Highway, some of the best chinese, vietnamese, mexican places in Atlanta are gathered here. Pong Mie, on Buford, north of Shallowford and next to Delta Electronics is my favorite. This is more Korean chinese than anything else. Right across the street is a huge mall with two chinese places. Can't vouch for them since I haven't gone there, but the mall caters to asians mostly. Pung Mie, go to the Chamblee Dunwoody Road, go west or right. Follow it until you can see Honto on your right. Great cantonese food. Lots of seafood and they have dimsum on weekends. Or you can follow Chamblee Dunwoody until you get to the light, New Peachtree Road. Turn left and you will see Chinatown Mall. There are two restaurants, one cantonese, one Hunan. Take your pick. The cantonese one is called the Oriental Pearl. Inside the mall, there is a food court with about half a dozen food stalls, anything you want you can get practically. The barbeque place is my favorite. On Cheshire Bridge Road, there are the Hong Kong Harbor and Bamboo Luau. Both pretty good places. I prefer Hong Kong Harbor. For more info, read Cliff Bostock's grazing column in the Creative Loafing for newer restaurants. Thanks for all the information about Chinese and other food in Atlanta. This gives me enough places to try that I won't end up eating anywhere else for about a year! One quick comment: I noticed one of the postings mentioned Addis Abbaba, an Ethiopian place on Little Five Points. It's gone now, and there's currently a Mexican restaurant in its place that I've only heard bad things about. I think Dooley's is also closed -- something called Jaeger's, which I've eaten at and wouldn't recommend, is in its place. There's not only an Everybody's in Virginia Highlands, but also one on North Decatur, across from Emory. A couple of places that weren't mentioned on the list that I really like are Thai Chilli on Briarcliff (it's brand new, but everything I've had there has been excellent, though I don't know how authentic it would be) and Cowtippers on Piedmont (a great, cozy steak place that usually makes wonderful margaritas).
