Try Dante's Down the Hatch. I love that restaurant.

No offense Ginny, but I hate you. :)

Have you tried these Atlanta Restaurants? They are my favorites.

Indigo Coastal Grill---Great Seafood..Conque fritters..key lime pie is great.

Tortillas--One of my favorite inexpensive places..Try the Super Pork Burrito.

Kudzo Cafe--Located in Buckhead on Peachtree..The Tuna Burger is Wonderful.

Chops--More Expensive...Located in Buckhead..The Steaks are huge.

Cheescake Factory--The portions are enough to last three meals. Ask for a doggie bag. I love the Tuscan Salad.

Pung Mie-Located on Buford Highway..Authentic Asian...Try the dumplings...lots of Exotic Choices.

The Colonnade--This was a pleasant surprise. Located on Cheshirebridge Road. The yeast rolls are amazing..Salmon croquettes...Fried chicken..Southern Spcialties. Get there early because there is always a wait.

Hope you find something interesting on my list.

Indigo's Coastal Grill (North Highland Ave., more or less north of
Virginia Highlands) great seafood with a Carribean twist. No
reservations, but a fun place to hang and have a couple of drinks
while you wait. Also try Partner's next door; same owners.

Chef's Cafe (in a Quality Inn, or similar motel, just under I85 on
Piedmont). Don't know how to classify this, other than nouvelle
American, but *excellent*. My current favorite Atlanta restaurant.

Nino's (Cheshire Bridge Road, not far off Piedmont) wonderful Italian,
nice atmosphere, not for those with Fear of Cholesterol.

Camille's (North Highland) Italian neighborhood place, not afraid of
liberal use of butter, olive oil, and cream.

Fat Matt's Rib Shack (Piedmont) I don't eat red meat, but I'm told the
ribs are excellent -- the barbecued chicken sure is! Live blues.

Tom Tom (Lenox Mall) very good bistro, small but well-chosen selection
of single malt scotches is a plus. Located down in the food court
  end of the mall.

Bridgetown Grill (2 locations - Little Five Points and Peachtree, close
  Fox). Carribean.

There are 2 Thai places in a little strip mall adjacent to Ansley Mall.
At least one of them is pretty good (the one closest to Ansley Mall,
  don't remember the name).

If you're ever heading south of town on I85, pull off at Hogansville,
and try Hogan's Heros (yeah, they sell subs, but it's mainly an
Italian restaurant, and very good. Crappy wine list, though; you
can probably get away with bringing your own).

Have fun!

For Cuban try Coco Loco on Sydney Marcus at Piedmont.
