I second the recommendation for Cheap Eats in Paris. I sent mail to the original poster and I didn't mention that almost all my recommendations were out of this book. Didn't steer us wrong once (except for one place that had closed down). Also, not all the recommendations are cheap. There are a number of pricier restaurants listed that are still "good deals" by Paris standards.
