As far as I am concerned the best restaurant "Near" paris is Troisgros Bros. But if you want a meal, it is unlike any you will ever have again. You must make reservations very very far in advance. I'm not even sure you can get one without reservations in the attached Hotel. I don't think they have a seperate room, but I am not sure. Oh I just read 6-8 weeks, well if you all stay there, if you can still get rooms, I think they would do it. There is no better it put Bocuse to shame. GAT. Paris, France
Dream assignment: Paris, money no object
If the emphasis is on the *party* may want to consider Maxim's. A bit commercial, but a great party spot. If your looking for a great *restaurant* in which to have a party I'd check into L'Orangerie on Ill St.Louis. One of my personal favorites and have never been there when there hasn't been some French director, star or starlet celebrating something.
