Try "Herbies" in Marathon. Excellent food at good prices. Definitely not fancy, but you will get a taste of what the locals like...!

I second the opinion on Herbies.  If you're going any closer to Key West try Monte's on Summerland approx. MM25.  It's similar to Herbies but with a wider selection.  It seems a Keys restaurant can be measured by its longevity and both of these places have been around 15-20 years (Herbies probably a lot longer).
