I have read about this exact same debate on another ng (dc.dining). It appears that the franchise nature of Don Pablos yields widly disparate dining experiences. Personally, the one in Laurel, MD is excellent (service, food, etc.), so I would urge you (or anybody) to reserve judgement on the chain as a whole.
