A local favorite here in Boca is Guppy's Restaurant (a cousin of Piranha Pats (in Pompano)) mentioned in an earlier post. Not only good seafood--dolphin is delicious, but reasonable prices. They are also known for their burgers (try a Guppy Burger!). Tom's Barbecue is always crowded--long wait. Mississippi Sweets has good barbeque also--located on N. Federal Highway--they also have a good pan-fried catfish sandwich. Lorraine (BERES@FAUVAX)

Boca Raton Restaurants
We just got back from Boca Raton this week ... my suggestions would be Prezzo's on Glades Road right across from the Turnpike entrance. There were lots of kids there when we were there, and their presence didn't seem to bother anybody. Moishe's Deli in the shopping center on the northeast corner of Lyons & Glades Road ... facing Lyons. The best place with the kids is probably the food court at Towne Center Mall, and if you can get out one night by yourselves, I'd suggest Pete's (next to Prezzo's) which has a very good early bird special, and probably the best food we've ever had in the Boca Raton area! --judi * 1st 1.11 #2182 * Vini, vidi, veggie .. (Not that it's _that_ expensive, but it doesn't strike me as a "kid" type of place.) [snip] >The best place with the kids is probably the food court >at Towne Center Mall, [snip about Moishe's deli] Depending on the age of the kids, Wilt Chamberlain's might be good (loud, game room, even a basketball court in the restaurant!), and the food's not bad. It's also on Glades at Lyons (same shopping center as Moishe's). Pete Rose's is also near there. (Pete shows up at his restaurant, Wilt doesn't :-)). > and if you can get out one night by yourselves, >I'd suggest Pete's (next to Prezzo's) which has a very good early bird >special, and probably the best food we've ever had in the Boca Raton >area! Never eaten at Pete's (it _does_ have a good reputation), but it depends what you like and what you want to spend (I missed the start of this thread). There are a fair number of very good (but expensive) restaurants in Boca, and a few excellent ones. La Vielle Maison, the Morada Cafe, and Maxaluna are a few; also some in North Broward county (just south of Boca) - Cafe Maxx and Cafe Arugula are probably the best (and most expensive :-)) of these. ted
