Woody's BBQ. The best of the best. I know the owner quite well. He owns (I think) 36 restaurants in NE Florida and southern GA. Mind you, this is southern BBQ. Damn good tho' for a chain.

And if Woody is around, he'll sit right down with you and tell ya war stories. He's a kick in the pants.

Good Day All,

Jacksonville has plenty to offer--Bono's (Beach Blvd near Art Museum Drive or on Lane). Sonny's, Rich's (North Main) and Woody's (University Blvd) are our local chains. Still, there are even other's such as the PIG (Normandy Blvd) and Cotton's (Main Street). My preferred location are in the .

There is also a very good one (can't remember the name) across from the FCCJ down town campus (on pearl street next to union street) and a new independent on Beach Blvd near University Blvd. I have had excellent and poor at Grandpa's and Toby's.

Each has a different flavor. Some locations are good some are bad -- depends on management and that day's cooks.

Where are you traveling from and where will you be staying?
