Great French country food......... The new owners are German and the food is still good, but more in that direction. I do agree with a previous poster about avoiding Estes Park though. That town has only one redeeming feature - it's the gateway to Rocky Mtn. National Park. My suggestion would be to do some hiking, enjoy the park and then head to Boulder for dinner.
Colorado
Estes Park
There is the Elk Horn or Big Horn restaurant at the edge of Estes that serves great waffles and chicken fried steak. In Boulder, try Pasta Jays and the Harvest Restaurant.

Lots of undergrads on first dates. The Harvest used to be a personal favorite, but on our last trip we got 4 (of 4) bad meals and lousy service to boot. Try Turleys (Arapahoe & Folsom) or the Boulder Salad Co. (Canyon nr. 28th). Boulder has many great restaurants, but PJ and Harvest aren't among them.
