Any restaurant in the Amana Colonies, close to Iowa City. If you don't want to get far from I80, Ox Yoke Interstate at Exit 225 is wonderful. Empty your cooler before you get there, you will fill it up with the leftovers. If you love creme soda, you MUST get off and go to the Colonies to the Mill Stream Brewery. Of course if you do that, you should go to the Amana Meat shop and Smokehouse and buy lots of things. In Council Bluffs, there is a wonderful Chinese place on Broadway, Szechuan I think it was called. I don't know why you would be interested in any particular Krispy Kreme, but you taste may vary. Are you actually coming close to Denver? Mataam Fez used to be very good, but it went downhill a number of years ago. We haven't been back for a while. Cafe Paprika, which is way further east on Mississippi, is better, but it doesn't have the atmosphere. Mori at 20th and Market has the best sushi, but the smoke from the bar may cause a fog in the restaurant (I'm not exaggerating). If you can afford it, Tante Louise stands alone among Denver restaurants. Jewel of India at 104th and Federal is the best Indian among those we have ever been to. Il Fornaio is a Ca. chain Italian restaurant, but seems to give enough autonomy to the branches. The downtown one at 17th and Wazee has a lovely interior, and great food. The monthly regional menus are usually really good. This is not a local spaghetti place, nor is it an Olive Garden. If you need more on Denver place, write.
Denver, CO
Driving from CT to Co along I-80- where to stop?
