My all-time favorite, incredibly romantic, wonderful restaurant is the Flagstaff house. It sits up in the ponderosa pine on Flagstaff, with full glass on all east-facing windows. Our favorite is to begin dinner before sunset and then watch the lights come on. All tables have nice views, but request one by the window. Food is continental, superb, a four or five star restaurant. 303-442-4640. Another fancy restaurant in the mountains is the Fawn Brook Inn in Allenspark. Again, outrageous food. Doesn't have the view, but still in a lovely setting and a really neat place. Very romantic and wonderful. Telephone numbers not in my book - sorry. Those are my own passions and tastes. I wouldn't trade them for the famous downtown Denver eateries for anything. ESPECIALLY not for an anniversary. Spend the day in the mountains and then have a wonderful meal.

Denver restaurant request (nice, fancy, special)

The Rattlesnake Club is defunct, but the proprietor has a new place called Cliff Young's. I've never been there, but have heard that it's nice and expensive. -- Chan
