Gary, I can't speak to the subject of "East coast style pizza" because I don't know what that means. But as long as you are in _Denver_ and _not_ on the East Coast, why don't you try having pizza at BeauJo's on Colorado Blvd. @ Yale. Best pizza I've ever had. My favorite is a veggie combo with added green olives, sesame-wheat crust, BeauJo's Own sauce. May be different than what you're used to, but you ought to try it.

Re: Italian restaurants in general: stay away from Grisanti's (sp.?), esp. the location at I-25 and Colorado Blvd. Loud, loud, loud and the food is mediocre. I've heard good things about Fratelli's on old Hampden Ave. in Englewood (a close-in south suburb), but haven't tried it yet myself. They've been in business for a long time. --Bob

I'm originally from the east coast--Philadelphia and lived in Denver in 1988.

Try the Bonnie Brea for pizza and the little place across the street for pasta with tons of Garlic...There's also a great bar on the corner (westies I think, at least the guy who owns it name is West) for solid mexican.

The best pizza in Denver is at the Wazee Lounge and Supper Club. It is also good at Bonnie Brae Lounge. Beau Jo's is overrated.

For Italian meals try Dario's or Mike Berardi's on 17th street. For elegant and expensive try Ole Sole Mio on Colfax.
