The Fort in Morrison is one of my favorites.
Take C-470 to the Hampden Blvd/US-285 exit. Go west to the next exit. The fort is just north of 285. It sits on a hill, overlooking south Denver. It is designed as a nineteenth century adobe fort. The food is great. Buffalo, Elk, Venison, quail, beef, and seafood. The finest array of brandies that I have found. is at The Fort. A good winelist is available. two people, without wine can spend $ 60 to $100. Dress is casual.

The Buckhorn Exchange 1000 block of Osage St., Denver. Turn east on 10th St from Kalamath, 10th dead ends to Osage. The Buckhorn is on the corner. Menu is similar to Fort. The chef gets a bit more creative on the specials, I think. Fair winelist. Price range similar to the Fort. They have rooftop dining area that is open air in good weather. Dress is casual.

Bayou Bob's 524 17th St. Denver.
Genuine Cajun 'cuisine'
Hot Boudin, Fried Crab claws, Red Beans and Rice, Shrimp Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, and on weekends, Fresh, boiled Crawfish. Dress is casual, no reservations, There is often a 45 minute wait on weekends. go early and go often. two people can spend $15 t0 $40.

Namiko's Restaurant, 7500 block of West 52nd Ave., Arvada Wadsworth Blvd and I-70, go north to 52nd Ave. turn right to next light. right into marketplace shopping center. Namiko's is to the left, next to Tandy leather, and Hobby store. Japanese cuisine. Sushi, Shashimi, Don Buri, Udon, and Tempura. Small, cozy atmosphere. Delightful. Two people can spend $15 to 50.

Marc's Restaurant, 6920 W. 38th Ave, Wheatridge.
at I-70 and Wadswoth, south to 38th Ave. Left on 38th, about 3/4 mile. Excellent Seafood, and american style. They grow their own herbs and spices The Best Sunday Brunch I have had in Colorado. Reservations suggested, but not necessary. Dress is casual. Two people can spend $20 to $60, without wine.

Just some of my favorites. Will post more later.

I'd recommend Strings, (17th St.) Highland Gardens Cafe (not far from Mile High Stadium) & the new outpost of Zenith (can't think of its present name).

There is a great game restaurant called The Fort. It has snake, boar, alligator, elk, buffalo, quail, etc.

There are also some great Vietnamese restaurants in the Federal and Colfax area.
