Watch out, restaurant types, she's taking no prisoners. Midson not only names the top 10 restaurants in Denver, she also names the most overrated 5 and five that "need a kick in the butt". Her Top 10 list is mostly on target: 240 Union (Gloria says: "I love it", too!) Aubergine, Cafe Brazil, Carmine's on Penn, Fourth Story, India's, Radex, Strings, Watercourse Foods, The Original Pancake House Honorable mention to: Cucina Leone, Taco's Jalisco, Tante Louise, Vesta Dipping Grill and Wild Ginger Overrated? Midson slams the popular Beehive ("I got stung") and the even more trendy Sushi Den ("classic case of style over substance"). She also disses the Cheesecake Factory, Rainforest Cafe (chains), and YiaYia's Restuarants that need a kick in the butt: Denver Chophouse (hangout for Denver's pro sports teams) European Cafe, Mel's Bar and Grill, Papillion Cafe, Potager. (Bill disagrees about Mel's) Midson salutes a number of new restaurants with a "forks up": Blue Nile, Busara, Cafe Evangeline, Casablanca, JouJou, Painted Bench, Radex and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. "Forks down" to newcomers BD's Mongolian Barbecue (Bill likes it) Hard Rock Cafe, and Restuarant Kevin Taylor ("Too stuffy. Too serious, Too Expensive.") Thought you'd enjoy a pro's opinion! gloria p
