For local food, there is a place we enjoyed called "The Edge" cafe-lounge towards the East End of the island, which has good food and fair prices. It's very casual - you can come in ragged from the beach. The best part is it has fantastic snorkling right out the door (if the water isn't having a choppy day).

After a week of local food, however, we were dying for a good ol' hamburger. "Big Daddy's" is a simple bar/burger place with great burgers and reasonable prices. They sure hit the spot!

Cayman's Great! You'll love it. Any other questions?

Yes, I agree with this list completely. Just keep in mind that Cayman is EXTREMELY expensive. Plan to spend, say, US $250 for a meal that would cost you $125 at home. If you are planning to blow big bucks (like I did - hell, it's vacation) the best place to stay is the Grand Hyatt, which will cost you around $300 a night (off season). Hemingway's is one of the Hyatt's restaurants.

Also, if you are planning on going to The Wharf (which is very good but *extra* expensive), be sure to make your reservations early in the day, or better yet, the day before. The place is *always* packed, even off season.

There is also a southwestern style place a few blocks up the beach from Hemingways which was really good, but dammit, I can't remember the name - ask the bartender at Hemingways (anybody else know the place?).
