[TORONTO] REQ: Oriental restaurant recommendations

I was recently in Toronto and was surprised by all the restaurants on every block. Especially Sushi bars. Everywhere. A favorite of mine became Hanaya Restaurant on W. Bloor, near the University. I am not sure if they could seat 10 people at one table, but it certainly is not fancy nor expensive. A few doors down was a noodle house. There is also a Benihana's in Toronto, great fun if you have not tried one, but pricey. It is in the Royal York Hotel downtown. The dollar exchange rate is exceptional right now, and I found all eating a bargain.

Have next best thing to eating in Toronto is the shopping.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Toronto is an unassuming little place on Yonge St. called the "Garlic Pepper Restaurant" Definitely worth the visit.

Another place I always try to make time to go in Toronto is an Armenian restaurant called Arax. It's out on Queen Street at the Beaches. You can take the trolley out there. But if you're bringing 10 people call first. It's a very small restaurant. Make sure you try the Fatouche salad and the fried eggplant.

I was attending a conference in downtown Toronto last week. We found a great Japanese restaurant about 3 or 4 blocks from the convention center. The restaurant is call Fune. I can't speak for their other dishes but the sushi was fabulous, some of the best sushi I've had anywhere. The restaurant is on Simcoe near Adelaide (don't quote me on the spellings.)
