Rundles Restaurant

Easily the best in town. Chef Neal Baxter emphasizes local ingredients in a menu that changes with the season. Crispy Confit of Duck is a specialty. Teams of young waiters with wisdom beyond their years. Unusually fine wines grace the well balanced list (from $29.50 to $279.50). Menu is prix fixe. Dinner for with wine, tax, tip: $165.00 Lunch, Dinner, After Theatre: Tel: (519) 271-6448

If you don't want to have to mortgage your house for your trip to Stratford, try Mario's on the main highway going east out of town. It has good Italian food for reasonable prices. And be thankful. I remember the early Stratford years when there was almost no decent place to eat anywhere in town. My wife and I would actually buy our food at the grocery store and find a picnic table somewhere.

I miss Maggie Smith and Robin Phillips.
