In Halifax, my favorite fish & chips place is Camille's. They have superb food, great prices, and absolutely no atmosphere. Camille's is located under the major bridge (I forget what it's called) on the Halifax side, but I recently saw a sign in a storefront on Quinpool saying that it would soon be Camille's new location. For something a bit more upscale, but still fairly reasonable, the hotel located in the Sheraton in Historic Properties is excellent, and has a great view to boot. Another great fish&chips place, my favorite, is on the Dartmouth side. Peoples Lunch has the biggest servings of the best fish and chips I have ever had. It has a lunch counter with personal jukeboxes containing no music newer than probably the late sixties, the platters that came with the jukes when they were installed. Peoples Lunch is a few blocks up Portland Street, right uphill from the ferry. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Rick Ballard | [email removed] 1855 Walnut Street | Halifax, Nova Scotia | 902-429-8850 Canada B3H-3S8 |
