It should be available in bigcity or university libraries, if not book-and magazine stores. They have monthly reviews as well as an annual issue devoted solely to "where to eat". One of my fave places is a small Italian restaurant and wine bar called "Europa Europa". It's on Carlton street, half a block E of Yonge, oppiosite Maple Leaf Gardens. Heavenly food, great wines, fairly reasonable prices. Note that restaurant prices of wines in Ontario are ridiculous when compared to the U.S. Almost all of them mark up "liquour store" prices by about 300%. And the liq. store prices are very high to begin with, since it's a Governmnet monopoly, and so wine has heavy "sin taxes". But the C$ is only worth about 73 US cents, so that's a help. Do come -- spend lots of $$ -- and help our struggling economy! Amblik Pilt [email removed]

There are indeed hundreds if not thousands of restaurants in the city. Recently, I have dined at The Perigo Restaurant on Bloor St. W. between Keele St. and Dundas. It has excellent French food and wine. The coffee is excellent. Prix fixe dinners are available at a cost of about $50.00 (Canadian) per couple, including a half liter of wine. A la Carte is also available. I stay at a lovely B&B in the area, called the Mayfair. It is well - patronized, as is the restarant mentioned above. [email removed]
