I'm interested in David Spencer's report that Vong was much better at dinner than at lunch. We, too, went for lunch and were quite disappointed. Now I'm tempted to give them another chance after sunset.

All Hail Vong!
I've never had lunch there, but I've had three of the best dinners of my life at Vong. The tuna and vegetables in rice paper is like the Platonic ideal of which sushi is nothing but a shadow on a cave wall; the desserts were a favorite topic of conversation for weeks after each time my family and I ate there. (The white pepper ice cream with mango something or other and a lime cookie is breathtaking.) Entrees I've had mixed luck with--avoid stuff in broth, as it's a little salty--but the non-broth things were AMAZING. Highly recommended. Nice decor, too. Douglas D.
