There is a really good rib restaurant near the stadium: Johnny Rebs. But, as has been noted, "walking" and "S. Calif" don't go together. Better to stick with hotels, Disneyland. There isn't really much of note in that area.
Anaheim, CA
Where to eat in Anaheim, CA?

It wasn't great food, but it was a family-run restaurant that seemed an oasis in a desert of plastic. Jane Colman [email removed]
Well, if you're in Anaheim, it's just a hop, skip & a car-jack to Playa del Rey on the ocean. In Playa del Rey, on the main drag, is an Italian restaurant whose name I can't recall that is so weird that you must go there. The place is heavily decorated for Christmas all year and so many ornaments and nick- nacks hang from the ceiling that it's like sitting under a huge christmas tree. The owner and his wife are real fun and friendly, too. They have some huge, amazing fish tanks, as well. Definitely worth a trip! Barry Aldridge

There are plenty of decent places to eat between Playa and Anaheim. Besides why would anyone drive 40 miles to get semi-decent Italian food in a fire hazard of a restaurant? Giovanni's at Solerno Beach is the restaurant's actual name. On the Anaheim subject... I once had a pretty good Italian dinner in the Disneyland Hotel. The name of the restaurant escapes me. I once had a fairly excellent brunch at the Cattleman's Wharf in Anaheim, near the happiest place on earth. Good Luck. As even a true OC supporter will tell you, it's hard to find decent food when you aren't near the beach (or the South Coast Plaza). Vickie McCorkendale
In article (Robin L. writes (in part): >One of the most memorable dinners ever was at The Cellar, in Fullerton, >about 10? miles directly north of DisneyLand. We'll second that recommendation! Actually, it's only about 2-3 miles from Disneyland, just over the border between Anaheim and Fullerton - and you don't even have to get on a freeway! :-) Yes, you do go downstairs into what appears to be a cave - Disney folks helped design the effects. Service was wonderful - polished yet friendly (they treated us as though we were regulars even though we'd never set foot in the place before!); and the food was fabulous. Although it's expensive, this dining experience is worth every penny! Now I'm really hungry... ;-) Helena Robinson [email removed]
