Just gave this a try due to all the positive press on ba.food. Had the clay pot chicken in wine sauce, West Lake beef soup, fried noodles with beef and black bean sauce, and honey walnut prawns. The food was all quite good. The soup was just as nice as what I've had at Dynasty (on Castro). The prawns were perfectly cooked. The chicken had a very nice flavor. And the noodles were a bit spicy with a nice black bean flavor. The service was very attentive. We were there on Saturday night and the place was quite packed, but we were seated fairly quickly and treated in a very friendly manner. We were the only round-eyes in the place, although two came in later (as part of a mostly Chinese party), but I didn't see that that affected our treatment in any way. The room was a bit loud, and they had light rock playing very softly in the background (you could hear it only if you tried hard). I'll be back. Treasure Pot Restaurant. In a motel on El Camino, just North of San Antonio, bayside. Check it out. PS. How does one eat those clay pot dishes where the chicken has been hacked with a cleaver, bone in. They end up with all these little shards of bone that are almost impossible to eat around. Even if I were to just spit them out, it would require very careful chewing. So what's the "right" way to do it? PPS. I noticed they had jook on the menu. Anyone tried it?
