Yes, there are a number of good places.  For what I like, high quality and variety in an informal environment with expert chefs, I recommend:

	Kabuto (Geary and 15th Ave)

	Osome  (Fillmore)
	(the sign might say Osaka)

	Kantaro (Ellis at Powell)

For sushi plus other stuff:

	Hana Zen (Cyril Magnin at Ellis)

For a hip east/west place with sushi:

	Tokyo GoGO (16th St and Valencia)
