Actually, I thought the place at the end of Pier 39 had "Neptune" in the title; I was very impressed with it, and I'm also from the area. Still, the best seafood restaurant that I've been to is that place in Half Moon Bay, where the prices are moderate, the fish is fresh, and the view is awesome in every sense of the word. When I remember the name of the place, I'll post it, but I do remember that it is just off of PCH (Highway 1), north of 92 and most of the town. (as long as people request good restaurants in the Bay Area, I'm going to keep plugging this place)

PS: You're right about one thing-- I still can't think of a good seafood restaurant with the word "Grotto" in it.

By the way, someone (actually one of the part-owners) reminded me of that place in Half Moon Bay (that would definitely be worth the drive from San Francisco, or wherever in the Bay Area) that I consider the best in Northern California for seafood. The name of the place is the Shorebird. Give it a try sometime. I've been going there for years and have always been pleased.
