Here are some good and cheap suggestions, all downtown SJ: Mexican: Iguana, 330 S. Third - really authentic La Taqueria, 15 S. First - also really authentic Mucho's, 72 E. Santa Clara - hot sauce heaven & good spit-roasted chicken Rock n Taco, 131 W. Santa Clara - ultra trendy but still good Thai: Thepthai, 23 N. Market Sorry, no Chinese places I think are great enough to recommend, but we do have a lot of really good Vietnamese places. If you Chinese and Thai, you might check one out. My favorite is Tay Ho, 159 E. Santa Clara, and Tung Kee, 261 E. William is also pretty good. Enjoy your stay!
