There's a good one in Vallejo, believe it or not, in the big shopping center on Admiral Callahan Drive (opposite Target). They start your meal with a tabletop brazier of skewered barbecued meats and such -- quite lovely. And the BBQ itself is good, with a nice selection of fresh meats and veggies.

Great Wall in Sacramento is also consistently very good, in my experience.

Verdant - I'll try that place in Vallejo some time. One of my pet peeves is the treatment of garlic and ginger. A real Mongolian BBQ place will have a pan a real honest chopped garlic, and another pan of chopped ginger. Most of the places around here have some sort of insipid garlic-flavored water and ginger-flavored water. I've asked them why they don't serve the real stuff and they said it was because it smelled too strong. So what!! That's what the BBQ is all about. Without ginger and garlic the Mongolians, and the Scecuuanese for tht matter, would be lost!

Cheers,
Phil
