For dinner get there early (arount 5pm) to avoid the 1-2 hour long lines. Within walking distance from Town and Country you will find Fashion Valley Shopping Center. You will find a good lunch selection at Boudin's. Enjoy your trip... RSK

San Diego Restaurants?

It's *upstairs*. Top of The Market is pretty good, and the downstairs is nice as well. I agree 100% about the view. Having said that, I do *not* think this place qualifies as the "ultimate" in sea food restaurants, though I guess that wasn't the original question anyway. I have a theory that seafood restuarants near any particular waterfront, especially those of the "view" variety, are rarely the "best" seafood places. If you aren't that familiar with San Diego, by all means, try this restaurant. In all likelihood, you will enjoy it very much (I always thought it would be a great "date" type restaurant). I just have to think there are probably some better places in town. Aren't there some other nice places in the Gas Lamp District? Bob Phelps

Since I was the poster who mentioned FishMarket/Top of the Market, I will confirm that, as Walter has said, it IS the same chain. The upstairs IS worth the additional price/dress/fuss--we had a wonderful anniversary dinner there one year, and another year it was at Peohe's in Coronado. They're both wonderful! The setting at Peohe's was really beautiful, and that's where my husband gave me my opal tennis bracelet, which makes it hard for me to think ill of the place. We've only been once and I remember good service and good food ... but the view looking back at the city is most memorable.
