The Friday Sac Bee has a list of restaurants categorized by price (low, medium and high, basically), with ratings for food and ambiance. I've found this guide to be reliable, at least for the medium/high places. Some of my favorites: Biba's-one of the best Northern Italian restaurants around. The menu changes seasonally. Biba also has a cooking show on PBS/Cable. (28th and M or so) Celestines- Gumbo heaven. (Midtown, J and 25th ) Mums- Hearty, flavorful vegetarian (Freeport Avenue...)
