Best Thai around Santa Cruz I know of is Real Thai at Soquel & Seabright, across from the Rio Theater. My favorite dish there is only available at lunch; it's a fantastic smoked fish curry over noodles, with an underliner of crunchy fresh veggies. Be sure to get the "green" house-made hot sauce to go with it. It's quite unique, different from a typical prik nam pla. Real Thai's curries, pad thai etc. are also quite good. The Thai place down in Capitola near the freeway is decent, but I think Real Thai's generally better, cheaper and less crowded.

I like the sushi bar on that diagonal street that comes down the hill under the tracks in Capitola. I forget the name, but it's got gray painted shingles on the outside, and it's on the north side of the street.

Another fun Asian-ish place in SC is O'Mei, on Mission at the north end of town. It's basically Chinese food, but with a more international flair. I like their red pepper rice dish...fried rice with thinly sliced Thai chiles. They've been there for decades, and I haven't visited in several years, so I don't really know what it's like right now.

|Thanks!

For sushi in Santa Cruz, try Pink Godzilla. A friend of mine took me there so I don't remember its exact location.

For Thai, I like Thai house on the main drag. My gf and I went there and really enjoyed everything.

Thanks for the Thai restaurant recommendations folks. I went to Real Thai, and I think it was pretty darn good!
