For Italian, IMHO, Luigi's D'Italia (two locations in Anaheim - one at St. College and south of Lincoln) is the best.

Two of my favorite restaurants in Huntington Beach are both small Italian family owned restaurants with excellent and varied gourmet menus (no pizza!) Try either and you should be quite pleased Mangia Mangia on Edinger and Goldenwest Bacci on Beach Blvd. Recently I had a wonderful meal at a Persian restaurant in Santa Ana near So.Coast Plaza Darya on Bristol Good luck, gs Gary Segal, MD; Dept. of Medicine, UCI/VAMC, 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822; Voice: (310) 494-5484; [email removed] "AYMATAI"
For French food you might want to try Chantelclair.

So many good restaurants. Italian -- Bistango in Irvine. French -- Chanticlair in Newport Beach, The Ritz in Newport BEach. "American" -- Yankee Tavern in Newport beach. Fish -- The Crab Cooker in Newport Beach (real casual, but great food). Me -- I'd go to Bistango in a heartbeat. Of course, I live nearby -- but the food is wonderful, the atmosphere is excellent, the live music and dancing is excellent. They'll do veggie on request. have fun! John
