try oritalia at bush and stockton . . . they used to be on fillmore, you *might* remember it. fusion. my boyfriend just started working there as a chef, and the food is excellent. a bit pricey (thank god for employee discounts!), but the food is beautiful. the place is beautiful (you can get private, curtained off booths that are *very* plush!), and it's just a striking experience. have fun in the city, whatever you do! cheryl Tim S. wrote in article ... > i will be in San Francisco this weekend with a friend and would like > to find something really wonderful. i was vegetarian/vegan for many, > many years and just started enjoying meat recently, so this definitely > opens up tons of possibilities. i usually eat at Raw, and will still > probably stop there for lunch. something awesome. eclectic. high-end. > > any ideas are welcome. > > thx, > ts > >

I had stopped going there because the service was consistently bad (not just inattentive and unpolished, but actively bad), even though the food was pretty good and somewhat interesting. I had hoped things would improve with the move, and considered going back. The continued service problem indicates to me that it is probably the management that is at fault. -l

Oh, good. Cheryl, would you ask your boyfriend to keep a sharp eye on the waitstaff? We spent about $100 on dinner for two about a month ago. The service was, in a word, terrible. I had to send my meal back twice to get it the way I requested it, and I don't think it was the kitchen's error. We stressed ourselves getting there in time for our reservation. We were five minutes early and had to wait half an hour. We seriously considered walking out. Val
