You might try Rainbow Lodge. I haven't eaten there but I heard that it used to be good. It got bought by Royal Gorge a few years ago. In Truckee, Josephine's was good but it blew up tragically. I don't know if they are rebuilding. Squeeze Inn in Truckee is good for breakfast. Avoid the Wagon Train (Wagon Wheel) coffee shop. I always like putting my name down at Donner area restaurants as "Donner, party of 50" and see how quick the staff is to catch it. At Josephines the host said, 'okay, we'll just bring you utensils.'
