Boy...only 1 night in LA...that's a toughie...there are so many places from which to choose.

If it were me, I would want a meal unlike any I could get in cities across America, and that is also a tough one for LA.

One of the restaurants I have missed after moving from SoCal is Serenata Gourmet on Pico Blvd in West LA. This is the uptown outpost of a legendary Mexican restaurant in Boyle Heights which is currently closed for remodeling.

Serenata serves Mexican food unlike any I have been served anywhere else, and I eat a bunch of Mexican food! They specialize in seafood, but everything is good and the sauces are unparalleled.

I hope you'll let us know which restaurant you choose for your 1 night in LA!

Bon Appetit!

Imagine you have purchased the package referred to on this web site: http://www.artexcursions.com/losangelestour.htm

If in fact this is the package you are coming to LA with, sounds like you will be staying in the Universal City area, as they refer to Universal City Walk. If so they have a great seafood restaurant called Gladstones, also Wolfgang Pucks (wonderful chicken, pizza and pasta) and Cafe Puccino for great dinner salads, baked goods and coffee. You can check it out at http://www.mca.com/citywalk/. If you will be able to get anywhere you want to eat I would suggest Claim Jumper restaurant for awesome food well prepared large portions of food. The closest you will be to one is when you go to the Huntington Library which is near the Claim Jumper in Monrovia, CA (626)359-0463 at 820 W Huntington Dr or Mimi's which is in the same shopping center. http://www.claimjumper.com/

The food at the Getty http://www.getty.edu/ is less than average and nothing to write home about.

The Huntington Library is currently showing the George Washington Exhibit, which I have plans to take in later in the spring.

Hope you enjoy your trip to LA
