Tsuji No Hana - on Lincoln at Mindanao, near the Subway. Good, Japanese. Some great specials. Small and cheap. Chandarette - on Maxella, across the street from Antica Pizzaria The cafe version of the Chan Dara chain of Thai restaurants. Good food, KCRW discount works here, gotta love the tiny Thai wait staff. Pasta Factory - on Washington, across the street from Islands Created by the man behind the Alejo restaurants, this place beats both Alejo's locations, hands down. Large portions, family friendly, cafe atmosphere, cheap. Mrs. Garcia's - on Washington near Glencoe. This is a little sleeper of a Mexican restaurant owned and run by an Asian family. The food is great and creative. Homemade salad dressings, fresh ingredients. Not your average Mexican lunch joint. Can't think of any other gems at the moment....
