Lion and Compass is open and doing well. I've eaten there twice in the past 6 weeks. I've never been there for dinner, only lunch.

While I think the food is generally overpriced, it is quite good (I wish they'd bring back the 5-spice quail appetizer.) The ambience is wonderful, particularly if you want to impress someone. Compated to Birk's, (the other major "power lunch" spot in the Si Valley area, Lion and Compass is much more elegant (and quiet.

My main complaint about the place is the service. The servers tend to disappear after the entree is served. My pet peeve is when you have to wait 20 minutes for the check, and another 20 minutes for them to swipe your credit card. However, if you tell the servers you have to be out by a certain time, they will pace your meal accordingly.
