You *must* check out their website (www.hawthornelane.com) if you haven't already. I think that all restaurants could take a lesson from HL in excellent website construction and layout. Not only do they show a current/recent menu for lunch, dinner and the bar but they also have recipes as well as-and this is the thing that impressed me the most-a list of *every* ingredient in every dish that they make. Once, I was all excited about having a certain dish after having checked out the website menu only to discover that, buried deep in the ingredient list, nuts-to which I'm very allergic-were an integral part of the recipe. Although I was disappointed at least I didn't go to the restaurant slavering for that dish only to be disappointed that I couldn't have it because of the nuts. It was nice knowing this in advance. It's attention to little details like that that I feel make HL a class act. Based on my experience I would return. The restaurant is very close to MOMA which makes for a very nice experience: a little art...a little wine...a very nice meal... Bon appetit, Warren in Fremont

Hawthorne Lane?

Variety of meat, fish, poultry. The duck is very good, with steamed buns. The duck spring roll is delicious. Desserts are elegant, but very small portions for the prices charged. I love it! Janet
