The Gourmet Burrito of San Ramon has opened a branch in Walnut Creek. They serve the best burritos in the Bay Area. I just finished one of their Veggie burritos. Gigantic and good. Rice and beans, lettuce, some zucchini squash and maybe some pickle and wonderful spices. Seems to be low fat - I spilled some on my trendy old Levi Action Slacks and it has now dried without leaving a grease spot (shouldn't eat such a big thing whilst trying to type - they do wrap it in foil but). The Gourmet Burrito is in the Newell Shopping Center (?name) across Newell from Kaiser Hospital, around the corner from Lucky at California & Newell. Funny, they're next to Lucky in San Ramon too. They have more meat stuff than veggie, if you like that sorta thing, and they have much more than burritos. My family thinks the chicken burritos are yummy too. They liked GB better than High Tech Burritos in Danville which also had way too many BMWs and Mercedes. There were none of those kinda vehicles at the Walnut Creek GB either. Good crowd at 5:30 but they've gotten pretty fast at filling orders (mostly to go at that hour). That has been a jinxed retail location - everything there has gone out of business. J Sloops, Security National Bank & many others. Gourmet Burrito is sure a welcome sight and can probably reverse that locale's jinx.
