Why not try a great restaurant in Davis? The Symposium has some great entrees if you choose right, and I always hear raves about the pizzas. You should try it... Sacto: River City Brewery is my favorite! Modest (~$15 entrees), good service, all aspect of the meal are good, good microbrew. Noisy, but that gives the place ambience. SF: *The* best is Massas (check spelling!) - very very pricey and advanced reservations a must - but there are lots of options. Don't forget Berkeley! Chez Panisse is world famous and very good! Again, price and advanced reservations are serious considerations. Locally, there is Morrison's in Woodland, and (for serious meat eaters) The Buckhorn in Winters. While it *is* a bar, the Thai food at Paragon is as good as I've had anywhere (including S.F.). Bon Apetite! JT

This property was owned by the Holt brothers who also owned the Sheepherder Inn in Rancho Cordova. They sold it a couple of years ago to Hungry Hunter and they moved down to buy Peter B's Freeport Inn. Hungry Hunter retained the Cliff House name, spruced it up and made it a nice place to go, especially at sunset on the outer deck. Pricing is about average with Sac, I paid $15 for a full rack of lamb my wife had salmon at $14 a bottle champagne (chandon if I recall) was in the high 20s.
