Thanks! There's a good Ethiopian restaurant downtown, Shebele. The Muslim Chinese restaurant (name, anyone?) on Campbell west of San Thomas Aquinas is excellent, but has lots of MSG. Trader Joe's is in the Pruneyard. Campbell House is good, but the one time we went there, we were disappointed at the quality of the meat (as happens with depressing regularity in expensive restaurants). There really isn't any true French food nearby, most have some California influence. Tom's Donuts makes the best donuts I've ever had.

I lived in Cambell for eight years until earlier this year:
Golden Chopsticks on Winchester has good Vietnamese food. The good Indian place closed. No great Chinese food, Central China on Winchester is okay. No French food.
Giuseppes (sp?) has uneven Italian food. It has been excellent but the last (and the last) time I went there it tasted like they had dumped several pounds of salt into the pasta water.
San Jose is close by and has some excellent restaurants.

(Much better than the two Cambodian restaraunts in Berkeley, IMHO.) It's located on Bascom Ave., just south of Dry Creek Rd. Lunch specials on weekdays, or go with a large enough group for dinner and try a little of everything. David McKay
