Thanks in advance for your help > One of my favorites when I'm in the mood for the real thing is Le Castel on Sacramento Street (near Presidio) in SF. The cooking is from the Alsace region and definitely traditional. Moderately expensive but not outrageous. ======================================================================== <Usual Disclaimer> "The best is the enemy of the good" - Voltaire Leon Traister ([email removed]) c/o Amdahl Corporation (408)737-5449 1250 E. One of the best. Le St Tropez, on Clement near Arguello. Good reputation. Janot's, on Campton Place near Union Square. La Creme, on Irving at 24th Ave. Bon appetit! ----------------------------------- Tony Roder, speaking his mind .....

I recommend Le Piano Zinc. They have a 5-course prix-fixe dinner that has to be the best deal in town (at $25) for excellent French food in an elegant setting. It's located just off Market Street near the corner of Church - not within walking distance of the Civic Center, but not too far either. Stefan Michalowski [email removed]
