Yang Chow is one of our favorites (love that slippery shrimp). Another
place I'd recommend in that end of town is Szechuan Village at the corner of Huntington Dr. & Bradbury in Duarte, directly across the street from La Parisienne.

On Huntington Blvd., in San Marino, which is near Pasadena, there is a place called Shanghai Palace. In the recent couple of years, it has changed ownership and has finally found itself. I guess it can settle down and develop. Anyways . . . Shanghai Palace serves some of the best steamed dumplings, otherwise known as shau long bau. And it is relatively inexpensive as well.

In Pasadena, there is not that many good Chinese Restaurants, let alone inexpensive ones.
