Evening Magazine (I think) did a story last night on Chinatown and North Beach. They recommended New Asia for dim sum and Basta Pasta and Cafe Macaroni in North Beach for italian. Haven't tried any of 'em in a long time, but from the telly, the Dim Sum looked quite good at New Asia. - Jon Z2K wrote: > >Taking an auto trip to SF in the fall. > >Any recommendations as to a decent Chinese restaurant with >a decent price in Chinatown ?

Chinatown-San Francisco-Chinese Food ?

It is excellent and such a pleasureable dining experience. For a great home-cooked Italian meal look around the corner in North Beach for the US Restaurant. Waittresses never write your order down, but they also never forget or get it wrong. The food is superb! You might try House of Nanking. It is a hole in the wall, but the food is excellent. Not much to look at, but food is really good, another recommendation is to let the staff order for you if you do not have something specific in mind. yum ...dreaming of SF :)
