Terrific. Wonderful. Among the best experiences I've had in SF (or almost anywhere) restaurants. Been there twice. The ambiance is really nice, not loud or brash like lots of SF restaurants but pretty, comfortable, quiet, and elegant. Service has been perfect both times. Among the various people I've been there with, we've run the gamut: game (venison), pork, duck, vegetarian, seafood; everything's been really well done. Don't get scared off by combinations that sound crazy (and ought to be avoided at some restaurants) -- Boulevard puts them together perfectly, making it work well. Enjoy! Boulevard... Comments?
That place is great. I wouldn't worry about avoiding anything at all on the menu--everything I've had there has been super. Enjoy! -Scott Someone wrote: > Hi, > I'm planning on taking my SO to The Boulevard for her birthday next Tuesday. > I'd appreciate if you share your comments about the restaurants, dishes to > get/avoid etc. Thanks. > > --dani >
i love boulevard . . . the pork chop with apple sauce is my favorite item there. it's done very traditionally, but with imagination and great TASTIE value . . . also, whatever the dessert special is for the day, get it. you really can't go wrong there. the atmosphere is formal without being stuffy. a lovely dining exp., i must say. cheryl wrote in article ... > Hi, > I'm planning on taking my SO to The Boulevard for her birthday next Tuesday. > I'd appreciate if you share your comments about the restaurants, dishes to > get/avoid etc. Thanks. > > --dani > >

Nothing especially memorable or delicious. Though I've never liked Boulevard nearly so well as the earlier Nancy Oakes restaurant, L'Avenue, we've eaten there many times and always enjoyed it. What did you have? What was wrong? Or are you comparing it to L'Avenue which was a much smaller, prettier, far more intimate restaurant where she had far more control over every dish?
