best Indian dinner?

I really like Sue's Indian, on Castro in Mtn View. They used to have one of the best lunch buffets I've seen, but lately they've changed a bit. They used to have breast-meat chicken (tandoori style). I really prefer white meat, but MOST Indian places either don't understand me when I ask for it, or just plain refuse to serve it!! Must be cause it costs more (bummer excuse).

For the menu dinners (ie, not buffet), their stuff is very good. And, you
-can- request white meat when ordering off the menu ;-)

cheers,

I just recently tried Kathmandu West, 20916 Homestead, Cupertino (near Sunnyvale-Saratoga). Actually, it's not Indian but Nepalese. It's very similar to Indian food but not quite so heavy.

We were very pleased with our meal. The service was good too.

I understand they have a lunch buffet but I haven't tried it.

Last time my ex and I were at Sue's, we had a six-legged guest join us at the table. When we called the waiter over, he seemed not the least bit shocked, and grabbed the insect, bare-handed, and walked away with it. No apologies, no explanation. Pretty gross.

Luckily, we had already decided that this would be our last visit to Sue's. Their quality has gone downhill, and for the money, you get better service and more food of a better quality right up the street at A Passage to India (on El Camino between Castro and Shoreline). The only gripe I have about Passage to India is that on weekends it is jammed and service suffers (they never make you wait for a table, but on the last few Saturdays I've been there, we had to wait nearly 10 minutes to place our orders, and upwards of 30 minutes for food). During the week, they're practically deserted. Even though I've moved away from Mountain View, I still drive down when I'm in the mood for Indian.

FYI, they have a coupon in the Entertainment book, which is how I think I found this place to begin with.
