How about some BBQ places on the Peninsula or East Bay?

The only place I've been to on the Peninsula is Armadillo Willies. That was pretty good BBQ. It's on Stevens Creek west off of 101 next to Chef Chu's. Always packed at lunch. Best to go at 11am or 1pm. Really good spicy peanut coleslaw.

The best BBQ I've found in the Hayward area is Carmens on "A" Street west of 880 and before Hesperian. Jamaican spicy hot. Big crushed pepper seeds in the hot. My eyes actually started sweating just thinking about it. Talk about classical conditioning. Yum!!!

Try Goldie's on University Ave. in East Palo Alto. Even at its worst, it far outstrips Armadillo Willy's, et.al. Best stuff this side of Flint's.

We like King's Palace on Old Bayshore (west side, don't know the address) in South S.F. Outstanding! And convenient on the way home from Candlestick. -- Tony ([email removed])
