In Carmel, my favorite restaurant is La Boheme, at 7th and Dolores. Sort of European country kitchen style. They serve a prix fixe meal, table d' hote style (meaning only one item per evening -- plus a vegetarian meal for those who desire such). Moderate.

In Monterey, try Domenico's, on Fisherman's Wharf. Continental. Give the rest of the dives on the Wharf a big miss. (Same goes for Cannery Row) Expensive.

Another favorite in Monterey is Zoraida's. Mexican food. In a redone Taco Hell. Semi-fast food but very good! The table sauce is great! On the main drag into Seaside (forget the name of the street, offhand). Inexpensive.
