In San Francisco:
      Bonta -- on Union Street near Fillmore. Great tiramisu
      Osteria -- Presidio and Sacramento, not as good as the one in
Palo Alto
      Parma -- in the Marina on Steiner is OK. If you're in the neighborhood.
      Moose's -- in North Beach. Not exactly Italian, but sort of.
Great in any case.

In Palo Alto:
      Osteria -- Hamilton at Ramona. Great.

Risorante Ecco- San Francisco (the best of this bunch) Il Fornaio- Palo Alto Kulettos- Burlinggame (they might not be Italian, I cannot quite remember) Fontanas- Menlo Park Piattis- Palo Alto
